How this model worksTransparent assumptions, clear limits

The starting point is your current included portfolio at your ownership share. Nothing here changes your recorded net worth.

  • Illustrative growth assumptions, not forecasts or probabilities.
  • One blended rate applies to all included assets. Property and locked pensions are not necessarily available to spend.
  • Existing liabilities stay fixed. Debt interest, repayments, taxes, transaction fees and changes in exchange rates are not modelled.
  • Contributions must be new money from outside this portfolio. Transfers between your own tracked accounts are not contributions.
  • Contributions and planned withdrawals are fixed nominal amounts. Withdrawals stop at available assets and any unmet spending is shown separately.
  • Life events are external income or spending at month end. Buying an asset or moving money between tracked accounts is not an external flow.
  • Growth is compounded monthly using the monthly equivalent of your annual rate. Monthly contributions and one off income arrive at the end of each month, followed by regular spending and one off expenses. Unfunded expenses are shown as a shortfall, not new borrowing.
  • A goal uses the money view you select. In today's money, a goal represents today's purchasing power. It does not add a withdrawal or reserve cash.
  • Changing the money view changes the meaning of the same goal amount. Review your target when switching views.

Assumptions used

Modelled from 4 October 2026 for 10 years. New money: £500.00 monthly through year 10. Planned spending: £0.00 monthly from year 1.

Annual growth: worst -2%, mid 3%, best 6%. Annual inflation: 2.5%. Goal: £750,000.00 in today's money, after 10 years.

Liabilities remain fixed. Asset availability, taxes, fees and debt repayments are not modelled. These scenarios are illustrative assumptions, not probabilities or promises. Unfunded spending is shown separately.
